Wor Voices 1 - Wartime Gateshead 1939-1945
Wor Voices commemorates the Second World War by documenting the memories of local people who lived through it. It was created as part of an intergeneration project by our children working with local senior citizens from Lobley Hill Community Centre.

This is Year 1 dancing to 'Burn Baby Burn'!
Reception swivelled their hips to 'The Time Warp'
Year Three used drama and dance together to show us their interpretation of war time.

Digital Excellence
As part of our ICT Curriculum we will be starting a new scheme where the children work to gain awards. When pupils achieve their award they receive a badge which they can sew onto their book bag!
KS1 children also have Digit Bear who helps them with their work. If they do well they can even take Digit Bear home!
The children are all currently working towards their Word Processing awards and we hope that many of them will shortly be showing off their bronze, silver and gold badges.
Good Luck!

Educational Visits
At our school each class will have an educational visit once a term. The work the children do that term will mainly be based around visit. The aim of this strategy is that the learning experiences will seem more relevant to the pupils and that teachers will be able to draw on all aspects of the curriculum through one topic. We also hope that the learning will be more enjoyable as the pupils can draw on real experiences.
These visits include, Durham Cathedral, The Chronicle, Centre for Life, The Seaside, Chopwell Woods, Segedunum Roman Fort, Washington Old Hall and many other exciting places.
You can see photographs of pupils on these visits and examples of work in other areas of the website.
