During this term, children in Year 5 have been taking part in a project linked to the Gateshead Children's Book Awards. They had to read lots of brand new books then write reviews about these to go on a special website. Each book was also given a score out of 5.

On July 1st, the children were invited to the awards ceremony at Gateshead Old Town Hall where the winning books were announced. The children had an excellent evening; they got up on stage and performed a play about their favourite book (The Boy In The Dress by David Walliams), they were given a special certificate for taking part in the project and then they got to meet a famous author called Cathy Cassidy.
