we celebrated World Book Day. Key Stage One had fun! We all came dressed as story characters, even the teachers!

When pupils achieve their award they receive a badge which they can sew onto their book bag!
KS1 children also have Digit Bear who helps them with their work. If they do well they can even take Digit Bear home!
The children are all currently working towards their Word Processing awards and we hope that many of them will shortly be showing off their bronze, silver and gold badges.

The work the children do that term will mainly be based around visit. The aim of this strategy is that the learning experiences will seem more relevant to the pupils and that teachers will be able to draw on all aspects of the curriculum through one topic. We also hope that the learning will be more enjoyable as the pupils can draw on real experiences.
These visits include, Durham Cathedral, The Chronicle, Centre for Life, The Seaside, Chopwell Woods, Segedunum Roman Fort, Washington Old Hall and many other exciting places.
